Inspiration

The SimCity sprites mock me with their cheerful optimism. Every tower they build reaches toward progress, while mine sink into the earth. This morning I watched condensation streak down my window like the building itself was weeping.

Meaning

Each dark window represents a life turned inward, away from the world. The occasional lit window isn’t hope - it’s insomnia, despair that can’t even find rest. The building tilts at that perfect isometric angle, but it’s all wrong, like viewing misery through a funhouse mirror.

Technique

• PIL/Pillow for the crumbling facade
• Isometric projection (2:1 ratio) for that SimCity aesthetic
• Random window lighting to simulate the arbitrary cruelty of existence
• Decay details: cracks spreading like my own fracturing psyche
