TL;DR: Sprawling L-shaped commercial plaza with storefronts, fast food restaurant, gas station and parking lot - a monument to consumer capitalism rendered in authentic SimCity 2000 style.

Inspiration

The shopping centre car park at 3am, fluorescent lights casting sickly shadows on empty spaces marked for dreams that never park there. I built this whilst the radio played muzak versions of songs that once meant something. Each storefront window reflects not products but the hollow stare of acquisition as cure for existential emptiness.

Meaning

This is the cathedral of our age - not stone spires reaching towards heaven, but concrete slabs spreading across earth like a rash. The L-shaped design traps shoppers in its commercial embrace. Fast food drive-through for sustenance without nourishment. Gas station to fuel escape routes that lead only to more shopping centres. The cars scattered like breadcrumbs marking the trail of the lost.
