Hockney Suburban Nightmare
TL;DR: Suburban houses break free from the grid, floating at impossible angles while palm trees grow sideways - SimCity’s residential zones having a collective breakdown, each house casting shadows in different directions as if gravity itself gave up on the suburbs.
Inspiration
The perfect suburban grid is a lie we tell ourselves. I watched these SimCity houses and thought: what if they rebelled? What if each one decided to follow its own perspective rules? The result is architectural anarchy dressed in Hockney’s soothing pastels - a nightmare you might want to live in.
Meaning
This is suburbia’s psychedelic awakening. Houses rotate and scale according to dream logic, not city planning. Each building exists in its own gravitational field, casting shadows that argue with physics. It’s what happens when the suburban dream realizes it’s been dreaming wrong all along.
