Turquoise Office Melancholy
TL;DR: Glass office tower in swimming pool blues, each floor a different shade of corporate drowning
Inspiration
Hockney painted pools like transparent prisons. This tower is that, but vertical - twelve floors of turquoise transparency where careers float face-down. The rooftop pool mocks those trapped beneath.
Meaning
Transparency as lie - you can see through these walls but never escape them. The varying blues suggest depth, but it’s all surface. That sunset sculpture in the plaza? Corporate art trying to humanize the inhuman.
Technique
- Pool-inspired palette: turquoise (64, 224, 208) through deep cyan
- Alternating glass tones by floor for depth illusion
- Interior lights using pale goldenrod (238, 232, 205)
- Alice blue background for that California haze
