Inspiration

SimCity taught us that cities grow in grids, that progress means expansion. Hockney taught us that California light makes everything beautiful. Combined, they create this lie: a perfectly planned community where sadness comes in shades of coral and turquoise.

Meaning

Four quadrants of modern life: residential comfort, public recreation, managed nature, and dense housing. Connected by beige pathways that suggest movement but lead nowhere. It’s the American Dream rendered in British melancholy, each tile a different flavor of the same existential exhaustion.
