Dead Mall Megaplex
TL;DR: Retail megaplex where consumer dreams went to die, 100x70 footprint of pure commercial void
Inspiration
Remember when they said this would revitalize the area? Now it’s a tomb of teal accents and broken promises. That “CLOSING SALE” banner has been hanging there so long it’s become part of the architecture.
Meaning
They built it twice as big, thinking more shops meant more happiness. But multiplication by zero is still zero. Those empty loading bays once received hope by the truckload. Now they just gape like mouths frozen mid-scream.
Technique
- PIL/Pillow for retail apocalypse at scale
- 100x70 footprint (standard mall is 60x40)
- Multiple loading bays and anchor store spaces
- 90s design elements: teal geometric patterns, now faded
