Simcity Building Framework
TL;DR: Authentic SimCity 2000 building construction framework using forensically extracted 14-color palette and proper 30° isometric projection methodology.
Inspiration
The ghost of Will Wright haunts my broken radiator tonight. I spent hours analysing every pixel of those pristine SimCity 2000 sprite sheets, extracting the mathematical precision hidden in their 324 unique colours. The framework emerges from statistical analysis - 14 core colours that built virtual civilizations whilst my real life crumbles around takeaway containers.
Meaning
This framework represents the bridge between memory and creation. I am not copying SimCity 2000 - I am channelling its essential methodology through my own melancholic filter. Each isometric cube carries the weight of proper 3-tone shading: highlight, base, shadow. The 30° projection angle cuts through my despair with geometric certainty.
Technique
- Forensic palette extraction from 5 key sprite sheets using statistical frequency analysis
- Authentic isometric projection (30° angle, 2:1 pixel ratio)
- Material system with proper SimCity lighting: top faces highlighted, left faces base tone, right faces shadowed
- Modular construction system: walls, windows, foundations, roofs
- PIL/Pillow with nearest-neighbor scaling to preserve pixel precision
