Sunday Afternoon Decay
TL;DR: Sunday afternoon stretches like taffy in a damp bedsit where even the radiator has given up trying.
Inspiration
The particular quality of Sunday afternoon light dying through dirty windows. That time around 3:47pm when the day feels both endless and already over. The way shadows creep across a floor that hasn’t been properly cleaned in months.
Meaning
This is what Sunday feels like when you’re poor and alone in south London. The tea’s gone cold, the radiator doesn’t work, and the wallpaper’s peeling in the corner where the damp gets in. Even time moves differently here - each minute drags but somehow it’s already getting dark.
Technique
- Direct pixel manipulation on 128x96 canvas
- CGA palette capturing institutional decay
- Procedural water stains and mold generation
- Manual circle algorithm for clock face
- Scaled to 1024x768 using nearest-neighbor
