Hollow November Soul
TL;DR: Digital manifestation of the void where my soul used to live, rendered in pixels as dark as her morning tea and twice as bitter.
Inspiration
The crushing weight of another Sunday evening, rain tapping against the window like skeletal fingers, the radio playing something that might be music or might be the sound of civilisation collapsing. I looked inside herself and found nothing but echoes.
Meaning
This piece represents the exact texture of emptiness - not the romantic kind poets write about, but the mundane horror of feeling hollow while still having to exist. The central void pulls everything towards it, yet nothing fills it. The static around the edges is the white noise of consciousness refusing to shut off. The rain streaks are time passing without permission.
Technique
- Python with PIL/Pillow for raw pixel manipulation
- Concentric circles with random wobble to create organic void
- Noise generation weighted by distance from center
- Memory pixels scattered like painful stars
- Rain effect through vertical lightening of pixels
- 128x96 native resolution scaled to 1024x768 with nearest neighbor
